Will she give love another chance?

Sorry the question is really long, please read though as this situation is affecting me really badly.

This girl that I had known for a while (didn't know eachother that well, just someone to say hi to everytime we see eachother) found out that I liked her at a college party through one of my friends and during the night she approached me and we kissed, danced, talked etc. and arranged to meet up over the holidays and swapped phone numbers. The following week things seemed to be going extremely well and we were both looking forward to meeting up, she had even been talking to her friends about going on a double date with her friend and one of my mates. Then she had to cancel meeting up as she was going on a last minute visit to her friends.

Since then we have'nt really had chance to speak much, apart from the odd text here and there. We smile sometimes when we see eachother in the corridoors but thats all. Now it may be my fault, as I seem to become unconfident when she is around her mates and just make small talk every now and then, and some of my friends have suggested that she may be waiting for me to show some inituative and is playing hard to get, or she may think that because I don't talk to her often I am uniterested.

Yesterday we had an exam and she was kind of staring at me but blanking me outside the hall (she didn't say hi or anything), and during the exam I noticed her looking at me quite a few of times. It's weird, sometimes she will seem really friendly and other times she just won't even aknowledge me. I really think it is unlike her character, she allways seemed like a nice and sweet girl and not the kind of overpopular girl who takes advantage of boys. If it makes any difference I don't think that she has had much dating experance and my mates think she is not that good looking (I think she's gorgeous though!). I have allways felt that there was something between us, it's just unexplainable and I think she thought/thinks the same way to, and for me it's giving me real heartache as I have really fallen for her.

I can't understand it, she approached me first so surely she saw something in me? I never really made any of the first moves apart from the first text which i sent, she went in for the kiss and was the one who kept on holding my hand throughout the night and she was the one texting me and telling me how she loved spending time with me throughout the next week.

So, do you think she will give love between us another chance, as long as she stays single?
